Since 1990, we’ve built 70 homes in the Wausau area, fulfilling our mission of seeking to put God’s love into action, Habitat for Humanity brings people together to build homes, communities and hope.  We have just begun construction of our 70th home in conjunction with the DC Everest Senior High construction trades program.

House #70 in Progress!

In collaboration with the DC Everest Senior High School construction trades program and Larry Meyer Construction, work began on Habitat’s 70th home in our community in September 2021. This marks the 15th build together for Habitat and DCE! The 19 students in the class are learning valuable construction skills and gaining critical hands-on experience as they combine their efforts to build the home. Alex Forer, owner of Larry Meyer Construction is again partnering with Habitat as general contractor to coordinate, collaborate, and oversee all aspects of the build project. Habitat home builds are truly a team effort!  With these remarkable partners and the support of donors, volunteers, and contributing businesses, Habitat’s 70th partner family will close on their non-profit mortgage in the coming months and move into their new home!
