Creating Pathways to Affordable Housing: Habitat for Humanity of Wausau Inc., builds homes using volunteer labor and funds raised from the support of local businesses, faith community, individual donors and fund-raising events. Habitat Wausau finances the homes they build with zero-interest mortgage loan to partner families chosen through a nondiscriminatory selection process. Partner families become Habitat Homeowners after they have completed the required selection criteria and sweat equity hours. A small down payment is required. Homeowners make monthly mortgage payments which include home insurance and property taxes.

Neighborhood Revitalization efforts like Rock the Block focuses on improving community by empowering volunteers with projects in a focused area to assist community members with projects that maintain home exteriors, improve weatherization and overall safety for homeowners.
